PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a non-toxic, transparent, and recyclable material. It's predominantly used in various beverages, mineral water, and film packaging. It ranks among the most widely utilized materials globally today.
Compared with PVC twist film, PET twist film offers these distinct advantages:
1. As a food packaging material, PET twist film fully complies with national health standards and has received certification from the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration), ensuring its safety for food applications.
2. PET twisted film demonstrates excellent twisting performance, with no rebound, fully matching the twisting capabilities of PVC twisted film.
3. With high twisting strength and good stiffness, PET twist film can achieve packaging speeds exceeding 1800 pieces per minute on automatic candy packaging machines, significantly boosting productivity by over 30% compared to its counterparts. In contrast, PVC twist film manages only about 800 pieces per minute and is prone to twisting issues.
4. The high twisting strength and stiffness of PET twist film allow for film thicknesses of 23μm, 19μm, with a material density slightly lower than PVC. This greatly enhances material utilization. PVC twist film, on the other hand, requires a thickness of more than 28μm to achieve comparable strength and stiffness necessary for aluminum plating, printing, and twisting.
5. The production of PET twist film utilizes a biaxial stretching process, ensuring stable quality across batches, uniform film thickness, and high mechanical strength. This supports high-speed printing and aluminizing processes, enhancing productivity and yielding a finished product qualification rate exceeding 99%. Conversely, PVC twist film primarily uses calendering and casting methods, which result in poor film thickness uniformity and low mechanical strength, leading to wrinkles and film breakage during printing and aluminizing, ultimately affecting quality.
