Advantages of PET twist film over PVC twist film include:
1. As food packaging, PET twist film fully complies with national health standards and holds certification from the US FDA.
2. PET twisted film boasts excellent twist performance without rebound, matching the twisting capacity of PVC twisted film.
3. PET twist film offers high twisting strength and stiffness, supporting packaging speeds exceeding 1800 pieces per minute on automatic candy packaging machines without issues, enhancing productivity by over 30%. In contrast, PVC twist film peaks at 800 pieces per minute and often results in film twists.
4. Thanks to the superior twisting strength and stiffness, PET twist film can be produced in thicknesses of 23μm and 19μm, with a slightly lower material density than PVC, optimizing material usage. PVC twist film requires a thickness of over 28μm for adequate strength and stiffness to support aluminum plating, printing, and twisting.
5. The production of PET twist film utilizes a biaxial stretching process, ensuring consistent quality, uniform thickness, and high mechanical strength, which facilitate high-speed printing and aluminizing, improving productivity and achieving a finished product qualification rate of over 99%. In contrast, PVC twist film, produced mainly by calendering and casting methods, suffers from poor thickness uniformity and low mechanical strength, leading to wrinkles and breaks during printing and aluminizing, compromising film quality.
