As compared to PVC twist film, PET twist film offers the following remarkable advantages:
1. For food packaging, PET twist film fully complies with national health standards and is proudly certified by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
2. The twisting performance of PET twist film is exemplary, with no rebound, matching the twisting capabilities of PVC twist film.
3. With its high twisting strength and excellent stiffness, PET twist film can achieve remarkable packaging speeds of over 1800 pieces per minute on an automatic candy packaging machine, significantly enhancing the productivity of candy packaging equipment by over 30%, whereas even the best PVC twist film reaches just 800 pieces per minute and is susceptible to twisting issues.
4. Thanks to its superior twisting strength and stiffness, PET twist film can be as thin as 23μm or 19μm, with a material density slightly lower than that of PVC twist film. This substantially improves material utilization. PVC twist film, in contrast, requires a minimum thickness of 28μm to maintain strength and stiffness for aluminum plating, printing, and twisting purposes.
5. PET twist film is produced using a biaxial stretching process, ensuring consistent quality, uniform film thickness, and high mechanical strength. This facilitates high-speed printing and aluminizing, boosting productivity, with up to a 99% finished product qualification rate. PVC twist film, predominantly produced via calendering and casting methods, suffers from poor thickness uniformity and low mechanical strength, leading to potential wrinkles and film breakage during printing and aluminizing, ultimately affecting quality.
